Position:

Galileo Search, LLC is conducting an exclusive national search for an experienced Director, Learning & Development. In this high profile role, you will provide support and serve as a resource for the assessment, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning, education, and development initiatives (staff and leadership levels).  Key responsibilities will include the management and supervision of the Learning & Development Department; Leading that team to provide high-quality, interactive training through various delivery methods such as classroom, e-learning, blended learning, coaching (one-on-one as needed), and action learning to organization's leaders and staff; Actively participating in company initiatives, identifying new training modalities and collaborating with Management/Human Resources to ensure access to evidence-based education; Evaluating and prioritizing all educational processes, systems, and requests in a manner consistent with current education/competency and accreditation standards; Management training, orientation, patient experience training, and providing ongoing education/competency validation that supports employees at all levels in developing their full potential.

Qualifications:


The successful applicant will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with Master’s degree in Nursing, Education or related field preferred but not required; ASTD (CPLP) or other nationally recognized accreditation / certification preferred but not required; A minimum of five years directly related experience in an acute care hospital environment; At least three years of significant management level experience in a comparable hospital, health system or academic medical center; Direct experience in learning and development to include needs assessment, course and program design, e-learning and learning management systems, measurement and presentation of training initiatives; Experience with both non-clinical and clinical curriculum a plus; Must possess excellent communication, speaking, listening, presenting and writing skills as well as the ability to apply principles of adult learning when executing or facilitating planned education programs; Willingness to travel locally to system hospitals and clinics as needed in a localized area.
