Our client is an academic medical center with an average daily census of approximately 280. They are not-for-profit and accredited by The Joint Commission. This highly regarded facility offers the highest level of academic medicine and research along with exemplary patient care. We are looking for a dynamic individual to compliment a team of three Preventionists. The department reports to a supportive Director of Clinical Care Improvement and has secretarial support. The organization is implementing Premier's SafetySurveillor® as their Web-based tool for managing infection control surveillance, prevention and reporting.
In this high profile role, the Infection Preventionist will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a system-wide infection prevention program which includes the surveillance of health care associated and community acquired infections in patients and employees and the prevention and control of healthcare associated infections. This includes functioning as a resource to medical center personnel to solve infection control related issues as they develop.
Position requirements include; RN (Registered Nurse) in the state of Massachusetts or eligible for reciprocity; Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Patient Safety or other health related field preferred but not required; Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and experience with development and implementation of an acute care infection control program required; Certification in Infection Control preferred; Demonstrated background in quality improvement and data management desirable.
